Aezion has taken the task of building a real time on-field timeclocking app that not just records clock in/out of each employee, but also ensures employee accountability and safety.

Technology Stack

  • Frontend – Android, Android Studio, iOS, Swift, XCode
  • Backend – C#,REST API
  • Database – SQL Server 2016
  • DevOps – GitHub

Problem

Productivity of operations team is limited by manual processes

Kana Pipeline performs its field operations using paper trail today. With all information noted on paper trail, the risk of losing critical information with respect to clock in/ outs of their employees is high and making it challenging to report the field level information to their windows based ERP platform. Also, since the information is all on paper, the company could not use it to monitor, track and report off of it and neither were they able to identify if any gaps exists not take inputs from their employees on opportunities to improve.

The Solution

Introduce a custom built timeclocking app

Aezion team has built a custom timeclocking app natively in IOS and Android keeping Kana Pipeline branding image in mind. The design and color patterns are inspired from their brand and the type of work their employees perform, thereby giving that emotional connection to the product they use day in/ day out.

The app is intentionally designed to perform real-time communication with to their ERP platform, creating instant notifications to office staff about each employee’s field activity. The app has the capability to also record custom activities that the administrator can set such as Lunch, Drive, Out of office offering the users a fully configured timeclocking solution. The app also helps create questionnaire and receive responses from employees on each work submission to help office staff get critical employee feedback on day to day operations.

Results

Increase productivity and avoid loss of information

With a custom built timeclock mobile app with available on site, the field managers and employees are quickly able to record their clock in/ out/ drive/ lunch times with a click of a button. The information recorded is instantly sent to central database from where the office staff can report on and track each and every field activity on hourly basis. It also reduced the risk of information loss since all the data capture is electronic and not using paper trial, thus avoiding loss of critical information for payroll.

Key Success Points

  • Customized solution to generate accountability matrix within the field teams.
  • Ability to capture risk information from field for better decision making/ precaution making for future projects.
  • Real time updates on what each field employee is working on at any given time.
