After facing multiple incidents of performance issues with their legacy platform, Community Impact Newspaper has collaborated with Aezion to help build a web based software with latest architectural design that will promise scalability, performance and usability to their employees.

Problem

Legacy platform could no longer handle the growth of the company

With business growing exponentially in multiple markets across United States, Community Impact Newspaper was puzzled with how to handle the increasing load of data into their legacy platform that helps them perform CRM, finance, design, payroll reporting, publication management, editorial functions. The performance of their legacy system was inversely coming down as their business grow. This increased wait times to process an order, create a customer, create a design, update a publication, run a report and many more day to day functions. With all their employees heaviy relying on their system to meet their accountability, Community Impact have started looking for a new generation web based and full integrated custom platform.

Solution

Built a cloud based solution that’s fast and meet all the needs for all user categories

Aezion team has taken all the inputs from the legacy platform and helped Community Impact Newspaper’s management portal transform into a completely cloud based system. The focus throughout the development phase was performance and quality. 3 Seconds is the maximum time that the system is designed to provide data required by user or to perform an action on data elements. On average, the waiting times of the users are estimated to come down by 80% – thanks to the advanced technology stack.

The system is designed to talk to various third party systems such as DocuSign, Google SSO, Google Calendar, Google Ad manager, Newshub, Paytrace gateway, ArgGIS maps and has capability for admins to configure user defined roles and permission sets. Easy to use dashboards by each role and easy to access reporting has made all the Community Impact users instantly happy.

In addition, the roles and permissions configuration capabilities ensured that a new user is instantly spinned up with required permissions and kep the information secure at each department/ user group/ skill level.
